“A” Twin Cities Area Alumni Chapter
I want to thank all the brothers who were able to join us last night at the Library Bar and Grill in Dinkytown. We will plan on this every first Thursday of each month from 5 to 7PM moving forward. Once the weather gets nice in the spring we may bounce to Sally’s or somewhere that has a patio depending on the weather. Keep your eye on the event list to the right or our Facebook page where the bulk of our daily conversation takes place.
On April 13, 2013 the University of MN will celebrate our 121st anniversary on campus.
Starting at 5:00 PM there will be light appetizers, pop and water. Please BYOB.
At 6:00 PM we will pay respect to brothers who have been lost in the past year followed by the Alumni Ceremony. Please email email@example.com if you are interested in participating in the Alumni Ceremony!
Passing of Richard “Dobie” Allen UofMN 71′
I am sad to relate another loss today. Friday 10/2/2012
Richard “Dobie” Allen has succumbed finally to Mesothelioma. He passed away in the last few days. I do not have more details, except that the family is planning a wake or funeral next weekend, Nov 10-11.
I will forward more details when I get them. Scott Robinson is in touch with his wife and will let me know as soon as possible about the funeral arrangements.
Dobie was iconic. Minnesota Delta Chi’s own John Belushi. He added immensely to the “fun” part of frat life. We will greatly miss him and his spirited personality.
We send our sincere condolences to his family and all who knew him.
Thanks, Steve, for passing this along – and well put. Sad news, but “The Ranger” will live on — a big personality and enthusiastic participant in most all the hi-jinx that went on back in The Day. JJ
I still have fond memories of our smelt expedition and then going up to “da Range” to the “god damn boom boom room in Biwabik” and Dobie’s house. That was with Greg Bloomstrom who is also departed and made me laugh so hard. Such great times with these guys! Ken
