Bob Vollhaber’s Trek Across The Bearing Sea

Please take a minute to check out Bob Vollhaber’s (UofMN) website at www.beav-alaskaadventure.blogspot.com. He has canoed about 4,000 miles since March 27th of this year. He started in the Seattle area and has gone through Alaska. He is now canoeing on the Bering Sea. You can follow his journey on his website. Click on the link that tracks him every ten minutes. It is something that has never been done before.

High Octane to Rock in honor of Brother Christopher Lifgren

Michele Nichols, a cousin to our late brother in Delta Chi is asking for some help:

high octane bandOn Sunday August 18th, our friends from High Octane will be rocking the Cherry Pit in Saint Paul MN off White Bear Ave to help raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There will be drink specials and food choices as well as other ways to donate to a great cause.

As you may already know our brother Christopher recently lost his battle with the disease at the young age of 37. Please join me in showing his family how we support our Fraternal Brothers on Sunday the 18th at 3pm.

You can also donate at: http://pages.teamintraining.org/mn/nikesf13/mnicholbr7

Please put this event in your calendar and come rock out to some High Octane on August 18th! You can warm up now by viewing the video below!

5th Annual Scholarship Scramble is now open for registration!

Brothers,

The 5th annual Delta Chi Scholarship Scramble is now open for booking your two-some. Remember this is a two man scramble with your cart partner going off hole #1 at Francis Gross National GC in Minneapolis on August 17th, 2013 at noon sharp.

There will be a long drive, closest to the pin, mulligan, and other games on the course included with your players card. They will be available at the event for only $30, your golf and 1/2 a cart runs roughly $50.

Last years winning pair finished at only a couple under so you don’t have to be an excellant golfer to compete in this tournament! And of course all funds raised to go a good cause, The Twin Cities Delta Chi Scholarship fund! Contact us today and reserve your time slot!

Twin Cities Delta Chi networking / mentor program a huge success!

I wanted to thank all of the alumni who were able to attend our first ever career/networking event for the active chapter. The event was a huge success. All of the active members who participated were very appreciative to have all of you give your time for them. They all came away with a new connection or piece of advice.

I plan to hold the next event in the fall before the students start applying for summer internships. If you have any suggestions for the next event, please let me know! One suggestion so far is to have a short speaker on a relevant topic (i.e. networking, internships, interviewing, etc.). I hope to make this the bigger of the two every year as a kick off to the school year and I hope to see you all there!
