My last dinner at 1601 University

I was just reminiscing my last dinner at 1601. It was August 11th, 2011 and we were celebrating Brother Zev Radziwill and my birthday. Brother John Vento offered to cook, and you know it’s going to be good when he gets going in the kitchen. I remember a fresh arugula salad with goat cheese and some soup to start things off. Maybe it was a tomato bisque? The main course was tenderloin with some fresh veggies and a great red wine to top it off.

The next dinner I’ll have is on October 7th, for founders day… may not be anything like what we had last year but I’m sure it will be a great time. I hope to see you there!

In the bond,
MJ

The 4th annual Sir Edward Coke open 2012!

This past weekend we held. The event was a huge success as we had over 25 brothers out golfing and barbecuing. The event also raised almost $500 for the scholarship foundation. Congratulations go out to brothers Dereck Flom and Gabriel Benson who took home first place this year with a score of 2 over… amazing.

Andy Stewart took home the Odessy putter for his 7 1/2 footer on #9. At least the weather was beautiful because the golf was less than desirable…. come play next year… seriously you have a chance to win, these two did it!

We have several events coming up in the month of October so mark your calendars.

·         October 7 Founder’s Day dinner

·         October 12 – 13 U of M Homecoming

·         October 21 the U of M chapter will hold its annual Jimmy V 5k run/walk to raise money for the Jimmy V Foundation.

We will provide more details regarding these events as the dates get closer.

As always we appreciate your continued support and participation. As you are also aware we cannot continue to put on these events without your financial contributions. If you have not already done so, please visit our website where you can pay your 2012 alumni dues.

On August 18th, starting at noon we’ll be playing the 4th annual EQ Kimball Classic at Francis Gross Nation GC in Minneapolis. Please take a minute to reply if you intend to play and who your partner is if you already have one. If not please let me know and I’ll help connect you! This is a two man scramble with tee times kicking off at noon on the 18th. Cost of the cart and golf is less than $50 and we’ll be selling players cards this year for $25 to raise some more money for the Scholarship Foundation.
