To kick the weekend off at 6PM on Friday the 12th we will welcome alumni with appetizers provided through Kevin Martinez (MN ’97) who now owns The Rack Bar and Grille in Burnsville www.therackbar.com He also mentioned bringing some servers to help out, it’s worth the trip and I’m sure you’ll thank me later.
The parade begins at 7PM down University traveling east from the corner of 15th and ends at TCF Bank Stadium. http://www.homecoming.umn.edu/parade/
Following the parade at about 8 – 8:30 we will have some entertainment provided by our one and only Hans Okerstrom (MN ’92) with his band High Octane. www.high-octane-mn.com These guys seriously rock the house and their playlist is sure to satisfy all ages!
Once that wraps up after 10PM the pizza ovens will be cranking out some snacks via Ryan Elsner (MN ’98) and his new venture with Chanticlear Pizza. They can also be purchased at Kowalski’s locations or go to www.chanticlearfrozenpizza.com for more information.
It’s OK if you can’t make it on Friday, we’ll be having the omelet chef back again starting around 8AM to cook for you. Custom, made to order omelets and basic breakfast beverages including orange juice and coffee to pregame. At 10:30 we’ll be doing the scholarship raffle drawings and have the game available to watch on the big screens if you don’t plan to buy tickets to the game.
It’s going to be a great weekend, now do yourself a favor and reach out to 5 of the guys you have not seen in a while and forward this on. Our active chapter has 34 members and 23 associate members, the time for Delta Chi MN to shine is clearly upon us and we appreciate your support.

I was just reminiscing my last dinner at 1601. It was August 11th, 2011 and we were celebrating Brother Zev Radziwill and my birthday. Brother John Vento offered to cook, and you know it’s going to be good when he gets going in the kitchen. I remember a fresh arugula salad with goat cheese and some soup to start things off. Maybe it was a tomato bisque? The main course was tenderloin with some fresh veggies and a great red wine to top it off.
The next dinner I’ll have is on October 7th, for founders day… may not be anything like what we had last year but I’m sure it will be a great time. I hope to see you there!
